Dermal filler is an injectable gel used to improve your appearance by filling out wrinkles, increasing volume and creating definition.
The dermal filler we use at Crystal Facial Aesthetics, is a temporary filler, which is known as hyaluronic acid.
Dermal filler lasts between 6-12 months and it is gradually dissolved and excreted by the body over time.
Hyaluronic Acid Filler
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance found in the body. Roughly 50% of HA in our body is found in the skin and it is vital in maintaining the skin layers and structure.
Hyaluronic acid is hydrophilic which means it attracts and binds water therefore, keeping the skin hydrated and smooth.
Like collagen, hyaluronic acid production decreases in the body as we get older increasing the appearance of wrinkles.
The temporary dermal filler we use contains man-made HA. Once injected into the skin it works alongside the body’s remaining proteins; collagen and elastin, rehydrating the skin giving it volume and a more youthful appearance.
